Worship of Prometheus

Prometheus and his brother Atlas.

Prometheus had a small shrine in the Kerameikos, or potters quater, of Athens, not far from Plato's Academy. The Academy had its own alter dedicated to Prometheus. Two Greek cities, Argos and Opous, claimed to be the final resting place of Prometheus. The Academy would have a torch race in honor of Prometheus. It is also believed that Prometheus was worshipped in ancient Rome.
